As I recall- there was NO high side pressure switch on the full size pickups until about 1993- a fluke that was somehow overlooked when venting r-12 was ok (as a relief method) so I believe if you are cycling it is off the cycling switch (lo side) on the a/d-- You do have a max door (recirc) switch on the rear of the compressor though......that opens recirc door when on lowest or next to lowest temp setting AND on highest or next to highest fan setting AND if head pressure is greater than 225? or so for 2-3 minutes-- We use to call this HIGH HIGH fan setting- because all the complaints were such that the owner said the fan jumps into a higher speed than requested when on high speed-- but they were actually just hearing the recirc door open.......
