I have brought this up from below circa 04/22/02

You will need a clutch removing tool as well as a shaft seal remover and installer.
You need to remove the pulley with is bearing to access the bolts, an good pulley puller will do this job. You do not need to remove the coil but it might be safer to do so, to avoid it being damaged.

Remove the clutch plate nut, remove the clutch plate with tool (Check plate for wear), normally the shaft key comes out with the plate, if not remove it from the key way. Using correct tool remove old shaft seal. Using puller remove the pulley complet with bearing (do not separate the bearing from the pulley as it would have been staked in.

Remove the Coil with pulley puller gentle

DO NOT APPLY ANY BLOWS TO THE END OF THE SHAFT FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER THIS WILL DAMAGED A THRUST WASHER INTENALLY THAT CANNOT BE RREPLACED!

Undo the body bolts until the last thread holding the front casting (pulley end) then gentle tap them to release the cylinder block(the middle bit)don't do this miles up so that the other half falls on the deck and breaks! Be prepared for the single thrust washer to fallout and the two collets and bronze bush holding the swish plate to the guide rail attached to the cylinder block.When you remove the swish plate with the pistons from the front casting becarefull of the three press thrust bearing (Make a note of which side the two washers/tracks go as one is thicker than the other(these cannot be replaced)

With a little hand tesing you should be able to remove the cylinder head from the cylinder body, watch out for the valve plate and reed valves falling out.

You should now be in a position to inspect and clean the whole of the
inside. Suggest you check the two needle bearings for corrosion damage, these can be replaced.

If the Valve plate and reed valves are badly pitted/corroded you have had your chips these cannot be replaced! If the swish plate is in a bad state and its bearings are knackered you have had your chips again these cannot be replaced

Using whatever oil you intend to use after cleaning the whole assembly lubricate all bearings, nylog on the new body seals and reassemble. Be carefull with introducing the pistons back in the bores and the refitting of the two collets and bronze bush holding the swish plate to the guide rail can be a right be you need two pairs of hands :o)

I suggest that before you refit the pulley that you gentle pry off the ball race duct seals and flush out the bearing with Wood alcohol, allow to dry and repack with HP/HT grease then refit the seals
