Not sure if you're has an accumulator or drier..Big silver can near the firewall?? If so, there should be a port on it for the low side. Or at the least, a cycling switch. If only the cycling switch, you can remove it and use that port for your guages..Just jump the switch until you're done..But not if you're retrofititng to R134a, then you need that port for the switch...The reason I say that is Volvos are really a Pain to work off the rear of the compressor. Every one I worked on was a turbo, and I always burn my hands due to lack of room..(Always wind up using a 90 degree retro fitting too) Anyway, on those, which were 7 series, the high side was closest to the engine, And the mount was always in the way, thus the 90 degree fitting, if the compressor was mounted on the drivers side..So, the low side would be further away from the engine..Hope this helps.. PS..The high side was always "UNDER" the high side hose, so if yours is different, be careful and check...Hook your gauges up either way, you will tell the high from the low right away...
