I have not worked on the "newer" 2 series, so I can't say..But I don't know what Volvo was thinking when they made their hookups. I've already had to unscrew the one port from behind the compressor to get the shrader valve ou, as even the remover would fit in that close area (7 series..) But, GM makes saddle type clamps (Piercing valves)for the R134a systems that I will use on future Volvos...:) No more burned hands for me....:)
