with the higher head pressures generated by 134a putting increased load on the compressor. Have you noticed your idle quality is not as good as it was with R12? Or that you're getting less gas mileage? Same cause - Using the stronger fuse is ok but you might want to check the wiring itself to make sure it is of a heavy enough gage to handle the increased load without melting the insulation.
