Subject:    Proper R134A pressures

Year: 1987
Make: Porsche
Model: 924S

Refrigerant: R134A

I recently converted my Porsche 924S to R134A after repairing a small leak.
I replaced the receiver dryer, flushed the system, and replaced the
oil with the Polyalpha oil that I see advertised that is supposed to work well with both R134A and R12.
I have read on this board that a good rule of thumb is to charge to 2.2 times the ambient temp.
My ambient temp here in SC is 75 today and I charged to 150 psi.
My duct temps are 42 to 39 degrees which is better than the R12 performance.
My question is when looking at a temperature/pressure chart, the high side pressure for my ambient temp is around 85 psi.
Why is there such a difference?
I didn't try duct temps at the lower pressures.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
