When it cuts out, does your blower still work? If so, you'll have to check for power to the climate control when the problem occurs. You may have a bad ground, loose wire or a dozen other things. But you will need a wiring diagram to trouble shoot it. ATC's can be pretty tricky to work on without the proper equipment, and you can damage the system if not careful. So unless you're willing to get a service manual, I would limit your DIY work to just checking and cleaning conections. A simple ambient sensor could cut the system out, but you need the tools to check it without damaging your computer...Hope this helps..
