Your gap should be .02 to .03 But it would be helpful to have the pressures also. Especially when you raise the idle. The problem "could" be the compressor, or just an adjustment of the gap. It's pressed fit, but you MUST use the clutch remover/installer tools or you can damage the compressor. But it sounds like you are using the right tools. So even thought it appears hard, you have to get the gap right..Then post your pressures at idle and fast idle..Hope this helps..
