Year: 1992
Make: Honda
Model: Accord

Refrigerant: R-12

Friend's 1992 Honda Accord AC went out a few months ago (no blower fan, no aux. condenser cooling fan or AC clutch engagement), he found fuse blown and replaced it, but replacement fuse burned out. A few weeks later, he replaced the fuse again and it didn't blow. He asked me to check it out and compressor clutch resistance was about 4 ohms but no 12V positive to the clutch so I briefly hot-wired it to the battery and the AC clutch and compressor kicked on and sounded fine. Working backwards, found that the pressure switch lead wire had 12V positive but that the pressure switch was not passing current. So to test the pressure switch I used a paper clip to connect the pressure switch leads but the compressor or engine cooling fan did NOT come on. However, when I had connected the test light to the "hot" lead of the pressure switch and to ground, the aux. condenser cooling fan came on. Are there schematics available for this AC system, I think that one of the relays may be the first issue, then I can pursue the pressure switch/low R-12 issue. Chick, Ignacio, Warren, Tim, others, am I on the right track, or what's the next step?
