Subject:    Which way does the refridgerant flow?

Refrigerant: R12/Duracool

I'm confused on which way refridgerant flows in my system. My low side tube (thicker) runs from the compressor into the firewall and gets cold when the A/C is on. Another thinner tube (hi side?) runs out of the firewall and is warm. Both the tubes on my receiver/dryer are warm. The other tube on the compressor gets hot and I can't remember where it leads but Im guessing to the condensor. So I'm thinking refridgerant runs from the compressor into the firewall (evaporator), then to the receiver/dryer, then the condensor, then to the compressor where it all starts over again.

Can anyone enlighten me?
