Hey Prof,

Watta day! Went fishing, caught fish. Came home, tried one more time to put power & ground directly to the clutch and surprise...it worked! Must be I didn't make a good connection the other time I tried. So...maybe I'm looking at only a charge to get things working? I'll do that ASAP, and if it makes cold air, I'll have the system checked for leaks. Sound like the right way to proceed??

I've never worked on A/C before, and really need to do some research as to how to go about adding a charge. There is a VW sticker under the hood that says this system uses R134A and something about a lubricant. Is this stuff commonly available at the auto parts store?

I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Thank you.
GR
