The flushing agents used are usually not compatible with the systems for starters. The metal shavings absolutely cannot pass by the o-tube and a few shavings are only from the compressor when it was new and should be of no great consequence, and if the compressor broke inside you cannot flush the condenser as it is a high efficiency unit and the is no way to get the debris out. Ester oil is compatible with other oils and in the years since it has been introduced to the market we have been using it when changing parts with no adverse reactions. From what little I have read so far on this site I have the distinct impression that there are far too many people out there doing a/c work with no real working knowledge of how the system works and no real world experience that should allow them to do the work correctly. It is extremely important to get things right so as not to damage the system further. In regards to remanufactured compressors BEWARE they are inferior to new units by a long shot and if you are a reputable installer you will abide by this advice or you WILL lose customers as a result of repeat returns for using poor quality parts. Reman parts are inexpensive for a REASON "THINK ABOUT IT".
