I think before anybody can help much, we'll need to know how many of the used components you replaced. Clearly not the expansion valve because you aren't sure if it has one. I think it does, since nearly all imports (and seemingly more and more domestics...) do. Not sure how you pulled the install off without knowing unless it's in the HVAC cabinet and you simply replaced the one with just a heater core in it with one that has heater core plus a/c evaporator (since that's where the XValve would be).
Did you change receiver/drier? If it's in the liquid (small diameter) line, then you have an XValve (maybe I should say TXV) system.
We really need to know what the system pressures are, and how much refrigerant was added.
Are you sure your used compressor is good?
