I checked the orfice tube today and it was fairly plugged with black stuff; I can only assume that it means the dreaded Black Death. When I had the tube out I ran the compressor and can say that it is indeed doing nothing at all. No pressure or suction, nothing at all. Therefore my next step is replacing the compressor. Seing as how the black death has infiltrated my system, I think I will just buy a used compressor from a junk yard and hope for the best. I am going to continue using R-134. Therefore, my question is what oil should I use and was I correct in installing the red orfice tube? What would you do in this situation. Any opinions, suggestions or comments would be helpful.
