Every now and then we have to ask--any accidents with HC's in car AC.
If you have any ( traceable)information than please post it- No Bullshit comment such as -a friend of a friend knows someone, etc etc.
Their seems to be at present approx 600 Ton yearly used in USA car AC systems which is approx 2 million recharges. With all the 'non "trained" persons using the substance you would expect some trouble somewhere.
So far I am not familiar of any, have asked the question earlier on this board and try every 6 month's to get some more accident info.
Last 4 years no responce, apart from 14/7/01 with the Aussi Guru,
but this was only a demonstration and the car had no AC system.
It seems interesting that some Chinese manufacturers are looking into
HC in OEM equipment, apparently the nearly 15/20% less energy consumption from the HC system compared to R134a or R12 is such that
it becomes important.
Interesting to see that Danmark is phasing out HFCs like R134a but cannot phase out the substance from imported motorvehicles.
Any views on who is going to be first with HCs in OEM cars ???
