The culprit is a 1987 Dodge Aries 2.5L Auto w/ a reman A590 compressor (38oz is the original full R-12 charge). New XH-7 drier. Pulled 30 minute vacuum to 28. It was a totally disgarged non-operating system when I bought the car 6 months ago. This vacuum was holdig at the 15 minute mark. Added 4oz of ES stop-leak plus 6oz of ES refrigerant. Compressor cycling every 4-10 seconds. Low side goes down to almost zero when clutch engages and then up to 40 psi when clutch disengages. Hi side goes to 140 with clutch engages and down to 116 when it disengages. Ambient temp is 82° and vent temp, with doors open and on Recirc/High, is 58°. Do I need another can of refrigerant??? I'm using polyalpha + oil in the reman A509 compressor (9oz). I'm using a Robinair Vacuum Pump and Gauges. I charged into the low side service port with the can inverted into the vacuum. As is evident I am AC challenged (my 1st retrofit) so pleeeeze be gentle! -PTT
