I installed the 134a retro hi/Lo service port fittings. Does the highside valve core need to be replaced or removed??? (where the red hose connects). Well I installed reman A509 Compressor and new XH-7 drier. Hooked up the Robinair Vacuum and drew it to 28 for 30 minutes. Put 4oz of Enviro-Safe stopleak in with 134a top screw on type can tap followed by two 6 oz cans of Enviro-Safe refrigerant. Low-side is at 24 and High-side is at 135. Ambient is 80° and with doors closed, windows up, set to recirc and on high the middle vent is showing 48° at idle with no change at 50 mph. Is this right? Now when I attempt to remove high-side red hose, the valve core appears to be stuck open and refrigerant escapes under pressure. Do the Hi/Lo side old valve cores need to be removed? Or replaced? Thank for any input. -PTT
