These fittings are the dreaded aluminum ones by Interdynamics from WalMart. The low side fitting seems to be ok. The high side aluminum fitting is the one that is wide open. I'm currently leaving the guages on the car and routed back to the well where the wipers live. Only that high side is connected thus preventing the refrigerant from spewing away. Could it be that the Robinair schrader type connector messed up the needle valve when I tightened it??? Aren't these valve cores standard and like the ones on my tires??? -PTT
