Year: 93
Make: pontiac
Model: grand prix
Refrigerant: r-12

If I flush everything, and install a new compressor, accumulator and
evaporator. How much oil do I need?

My service manual says that:
1) V-5 compressor system requires 9 ounces of refrigerant oil.
2) New oil should be added during component replacement as follows:
a) Eaporator - 3 oz.
b) Condenser - 1 oz.
c) Accumularot - 3.5 oz
d) Compressor - measure oil in old compressor if less than
1 oz. add 2 oz., if more add same amount.

With an empty system, if I put 3+1+3.5 in the other parts that leaves
only 1.5 oz. in the compressor.

What I am not sure of is if the compressor itself needs 9 oz. or 1.5 oz.

I think I need just 9 oz. total.

Anybody know for sure?
