Fitting adapters for R-12 system conversion.

Make: Pontiac
Model: Grand Prix
Refrigerant: r-12

I am converting from r-12 to 134. Does the material the port adapters
are made from matter? There are both brass and aluminum.

Aluminum is softer than brass, but the lines are aluminum aren't
they? Which would you use brass or aluminum?
