compressor failure

Make: GMC
Model: Sierra
Refrigerant: R135

Summer of 2000 the original compressor failed by leaking compressor fluid, bearings went out and lost cooling capability. Replaced compressor with Reman compressor. Lasted less than 90 days and then the same thing happened. 10 months later it happened again. We now have a working system (for the time being)

Any ideas what would cause so many compressors to fail in this manner?

Any preventive measures known to correct this problem?
