The quality sealers today will not harm your interanl parts. It's not like the sealer you buy at pep boys or autozone where you can put it in while the system is charged. This must be put in under vacuum, as it has poylmers that form a patch when they hit moisture. Go to Keep-it-kool.com and read about it...I can't tell you what to use, but it's a cheaper route than an evaporator change....The leak you have makes your car a great candidate for it...Good luck which ever way you go...
