It depends on why you want to jump it..To check the compressor, to pull refrigerant into an empty system, fine..But to use that way..NO it's there for a reason. Besides cycling the compressor, it shuts it down when the refrigerant is low so the compressor don't burn out. If you suspect the switch is bad, they're only about 15 bucks new, and junk yards are full of them....
