Recovery machines do not use filters but do use oil seperators.
It may be that you want to add a filter to convert your recovery machine to a recycle machine where a std R-22 drier would work but would be a single pass machine.
Connections on the R-22 driers range from 1/4" - 5/8" flare connections and 1/4" - 2 1/8" solder connections.
The 1/4" flare connection will fit R-12 hoses but be wary that the bore of the connection may interfere with the core depressor in the hose so you may need to remove the core depressor in your hose.
Desiccant volume would be a big factor on how long a drier would last in a recycle application before it would be supersaturated with moisture, drier desiccant ranging between ~49cm³ to 262cm³ for 1/4" flare connections (sporlan).
Try Johnstones supply in US for a range of driers.
