I am just getting into the DIY MVAC servicing and want to know what to look for in a good set of manifold guages for either the r12 or r134a refrigerants. I have already obtained the section 609 certification (piece of cake). Is brand name necessary? i.e. Robinair What is the most common problem encountered with low quality guages? I've priced a few around town and on the internet ranging from 49.95 right on up there to 120.00 I'm not getting into the business of AC repair, just the average DIY'er trying to save a buck or two but want a set of guages that will last over the years.
