Check if the other positions on your control (heat, bi-level, etc) make any change in where the air goes. If not, I suspect that the vacuum line going to your engine from the controls is broken. Also, make sure that all other under-hood vacuum lines are OK, in particular, the one that goes to the vacuum reservoir.
