I bought an R134 guage set from Harbor freight. The couplings operation are new to me.
I inserted a R134 fitting into the low side adapter and watched the shrader valve as
I screwed the valve toward open. I could see the shrader opening but could not blow
air through the valve. At the very end I turned the valve about another
1/2 turn and it opened. At this point the knob is fully seated and you
can't turn it any more. I guess this is normal. Any opinions welcome. It looks
like a fairly decent set for $60 and plan to use it for occasional personal
auto repair. I started to buy hoses and adapters to convert my R12 guage but
would cost more.
