GMC Hi-side schrader valve

Greetings,

I am having a bit of trouble replacing the schrader valve on the hi side of my van's a/c. I'm using a valve core tool that is really designed for tire valves and it works fine on the lo side valves but the core on the hi side seems a bit bigger even though the access port outside thread diameter is smaller (3/16). I see some universal o-ring kits (acsource.com) list two sizes for schrader cores. What do I need to get it out?
