Thanks a bunch to all of yall for being as knowledgeable and helpful as you are. This is the place to come when you have an A/C problem.
I just recently started a/c repair again after being "out of the business" for several years. The information I have read from EPA
leads me to believe the term "drop-in" is false and misleading.
All of "us",(if I may be allowed),,know this term refers to alternative refrigerant.
If a repair tech chooses to use any alternative refrig., he or she should know,, a separate recovery system is required. This in itself is reason for me to stay away from FRIGC,, FRIG-12,, or any of the alternatives.
A dual machine with R-134 and R-12 is all I will have until R-12
supplies are exhausted.
"Drop-In" advertising is something I dont look at twice.
Several shops in my area are retrofitting with different blends.
Thats all fine and good ,,until someone has to have a/c service some where else. Then its time to change to a different blend,, or go back to 134 or 12. Too bad for the customer. Scavenge whats in it and put your own in.
Ahh, FREE Enterprise,, aint it great,,
With respect and envy of you guys who "know your stuff"

P.S. B.G.,, Take your time and check your spelling.
