Bart,

You don't want to see the high side go much over 275psi running the engine at about 1500rpm and a fan in front of it to help condensor. The low side should be around 35 psi at an idle- it will go down with increased rpm. We always use Ester oil in our retrofits, it's a synthetic that is compatible all other oils. Keep in mind that when you recharge with 134, that you do not put as much back in as the system originally called for- the general rule is to put back in approximately 90% of the original charge. Don't forget to flush the lines, condensor & evaporator while you have the system down. You should not have any problems with the hoses.
