this is normally caused by a vacuum problem or a bad actuator. look/listen for a vac leak from the center of dash to passenger side of dash with ac selected, also look/listen under the hood near the wind shield for the same. have you had any work done to the car lately? sometimes these hoses get knocked loose. they revert to defrost due to federal and dot regulations when there is a problem so that way the wind shield will stay clear.................D...........
