If the shop you went to confirmed that it is only the switch, and the compressor is not actually overheating, then I would bypass the temp sensor and let it run untill it quits, but, if there is something else causing the compressor to get hot enough to break the switch, then I would look into that first and repair that problem and not bypass it....D.....
